Years ago, when I worked in a small indie shop in AZ, Bruce Licher would stop by occasionally to sell IPR merch. He was always great to talk to and he’d occasionally bring in his own used records to sell. Nice guy and talented letterpress artist. Check out the old postcards and flyers he has for sale on eBay. Last night, I saw The Obits (ex Pitchfork, Jehu, Hot Snakes, etc.) play a free show at a gutted restaurant in the International District of Seattle. So what does this song have to do with the show? Nothing. However, it was the first song that played on the iPod during my drive home around midnight. I played it three consecutive times at high volume because it had the same driving energy I had witnessed earlier.
